Start by Formulating a Fab 'Functional' CV -3 of 3:

What should you write in a Profile paragraph?

This paragraph, usually placed at the front of the document, allows you to inform the reader of your key skills and most important attributes. Keep it short and to the point; outline the most marketable features of your career. ie: experience, responsibility, knowledge, and training. Example:

'An internationally qualified aesthetician with 5 years experience in 5 Star resort spas as a Spa Therapist, followed by 3 years in management, training and development role responsible for a team of 16 therapist'.

Written references are of little or no value in your CV submission. Nowadays, character references are worthless, so avoid them altogether.

The essence of good marketing is presentation. A CV is your personalised marketing tool. You wont get a second chance to impress and your CV is what the recruiter uses to appraise your suitability. If you can’t market yourself via your CV, how will you market yourself within the business - if one of your weaknesses is the inability to articulate your strengths on paper - then pay a professional to design your essential marketing tool. It is worth every cent!
