WHAT IS THIS SOCIAL ENTERPRISE ACCREDITATION PROGRAMME?

Spacareers - through the Results Foundation is dedicated to the Mission of World Wide Wealth: Growing our collective power to create and contribute wealth through Social Enterprise. XL Results Foundation has developed into the largest entrepreneur network in Asia Pacific, with 50,000 members networking online and at monthly events in 10 countries, and publishes XL Magazine – the World’s first magazine dedicated to Social Enterprise.

XL Results Foundation was proud to launch the first Accreditation Program for Social Enterprises in Bali in April 2006 of which Spacareers Directors Erica Yeats and Vanessa Gay participated. This forum enables companies like Spacareers to be recognized as a Social Enterprise by their customers, partners, staff and shareholders. The XL Social Enterprise Accreditation Program is a global program, involving companies and charities worldwide. Spacareers is proud to be one of the first 100 companies to take part in this Accredited programme.

OUR BILLION DOLLAR CHALLENGE:

Spacareers is proud to be part of the Billion Dollar Challenge – a global initiative to track the annual earnings and contributions of social enterprises towards World Wide Wealth. The target is towards collective earnings of US$1Billion with US$100 Million going to charities each year by 2020.

The target at Bali Business Entrepreneurs Challenge in April 2006, was to accumulate $US2m in pledges towards the Billion Dollar Challenge. WE REACHED $US14.8m in Pledges – our 2009 goal!

Spacareers is committed to the Certified Social Enterprise and as an Accredited Member we must comply to the following:

Committed to Contribution:
Commit to contributing at least 10% of annual pre-tax profits to charity

Proof of Contribution and Disclosure:
Complete an annual accreditation form with statement of earnings and contributions made to our nominated charity/ies to XL Results Foundation

Nominate a Charity: Nominate a specific registered charity to commit their contribution to each year .

Spacareers has nominated the Himalayan Healers In Kathmandu, Nepal – a training facility for the “Untouchable Castes” of Nepal (who are considered to be "impure" and "untouchable", are restricted from entering the majority of community temples, have separate water supplies, and are deemed taboo to touch or be touched). The Healing Arts School will teach the Untouchables in the art of Ayurvedic, Tibetan, and Indigenous/Nepali massage techniques, supported by a foundation in Yoga, Meditation, and Reiki.

Spacareers will contribute 10% of annual pre-tax profits to this cause and will be working towards arranging Employment Opportunities for these students at quality, respected, supportive resorts and spa clientele around the globe. Coupled with substantial individual income, this will provide independence, confidence, significant personal growth, both individually and within the community as a whole. Thse graduates will earn an income to support their families and communities who live in extreme poverty.
